COVID-19 Update


News and updates about COVID-19 is being served to us faster than we can take it all in, and with many new resources becoming available each week, it’s hard to know where to start. We want to help you find the information you’re looking for and are closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization’s statements regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and following guidelines from these agencies and the local health departments. PLEASE NOTE:  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated their information on this topic, stating: “There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools, hot tubs or spas, or water playgrounds. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools, hot tubs or spas, and water playgrounds should inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.”



The City of White Rock has temporarily closed, and programs are cancelled at, all recreation facilities, including Kent Street Activity Centre, White Rock Community Centre, Centennial Arena, Centre for Active Living.  Click Here for details.

White Rock City Council voted March 23 to temporarily close the White Rock Pier, a popular seaside attraction, to help flatten the curve in the growing number of COVID-19 cases.

The City closed Waterfront parking lots and the West Beach Parkade starting March 23, allowing only 15 and 30-minute parking on the north side of Marine Drive for takeout food from local restaurants.

Our Cancellation Policy:

We are waiving individual cancellation fees for hotel stays through to June 19th, 2020 for all guests regardless of point of destination.

Guests who booked via online travel agents or other third party travel professionals are advised to contact their booking provider for information on their policies. Please Note: This policy does not apply to travel associated with a Group booking.

We take standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our guests and associates.  On a daily basis, our B&B is working to ensure that we meet the latest guidance on hygiene and cleaning. 


Our health and safety measures are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19, and include everything from hand washing hygiene and cleaning product specifications to guest room and common area cleaning procedures.


Specific steps Suite Smart is taking include: 

  • Hand Hygiene:  Proper and frequent hand washing is vital to help combat the spread of viruses. 

  • Ongoing Educational Training:  Ensuring that we are current and familiar with BC CDC Health Guidelines - guidance for preventing the transmission of COVID-19.

  • Real Time Information: We are on standby 24/7 to support  and coordinate with local and regional authorities.


Cleaning Products and Protocols: 


       We use cleaning products and protocols which are effective against viruses, 

  • Guest Rooms: use cleaning and disinfecting protocols to clean rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives, with particular attention paid to high-touch items.

  • Common Areas: We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in our common areas, with a focus on the counters in the Kitchen & Laundry Room, stairwell railing, door handles, public bathrooms and even room keys.

  • Pool and Hot Tub are treated with Chlorine and Bromine, Pool Deck Chairs and Pool railings, etc are frequently disinfected.
